Where is a P3P HTTP header used?

The P3P HTTP header tag is mainly used in large websites that process a great deal of privacy-sensitive information, such as customer details or online orders, or for instance in a webmail service.

The P3P header allows the website owner to briefly describe how the website treats client information, and then to refer visitors from this summary to pages where more information can be found pertaining to how client information is saved and processed.
